Interpretation is a fairly specific profession that requires both the interpreter and the event organizer to respect several fundamental rules. Good cooperation of the two is essential for a successful course of the interpreted event.
Technical aspects of simultaneous interpretation with booths are described in two standards (ČSN ISO 2603 and ČSN ISO 4043), which provide such basic technical specifications as the size and positioning of the booth, undisturbed view of the speaker, a technician’s presence throughout the entire event to secure correct sound transmission and solve accidental technical problems.
It is necessary for a smooth course of the event that the organizer and/or the interpreters’ client should provide all possible documents to allow the interpreters to prepare in advance (event agenda, relevant background documents, presentations etc.). The interpreters strictly observe the rules of confidentiality as is stipulated in our Code of Ethics.
